Opening a Can of Whup-ass

World of Tanks is a special game.  What makes it so special?

1. World of Tanks offers a lot of in-game progression.
2. There is a vast network of content creators(community contributors) and in-game clan mates.
3. There is a combination of various skill floors/ceilings that allows a variety of play styles.

(Skill Floor - How effective a beginner can be in a vehicle/situation)
(Skill Ceiling - How effective a veteran player can be in a vehicle/situation)

However, for the past several years, the World of Tanks player base has been experiencing a phenomenon where the majority of games are 5 min or less, and the end score is 0-15.  Players are finding this to be a serious issue.

While collectively, it's all one symptom, arguably, there are two factors the issue is stemming from.  The matchmaker, the system used by Wargaming to create in-game teams, and the player base.  However, because addressing the matchmaker and communicating to the player base requires different approaches, this platform will be used for the betterment of the player.

Continuing with our focus on the player base...

Tankers are making irresponsible plays.  Plays in which they get destroyed within the first minute of the game, and/or fail to effectively support their team.  This causes the phenomenon in which games are lasting a very short period of time with blowout endgame scores.  At the end of the day, this results in very repetitive gameplay, no opportune involvement of sophisticated strategy, and missing internal reward.

The players making poor decisions can be put into two categories.  The first being those who don't know better, and the second are those who don't care about performance.  Having on-hand experience with both situations, addressing "those who don't know better" is the more appropriate delegation of time and effort.

Because "those who don't know better" are often new to the game and haven't gotten a full grasp of the different mechanics, we will start with the basics and continue moving further toward our goal of alleviating the issue of short game times and polarized end game scores.

Welcome to The World of Whupping Ass.
